Look at this face!!

Not sure what's she's thinking. . . but sure is a cute little sad expression!

Got milk?

Today was Dairy Day at our summer farmer's market. The local extension office had a very special dairy display for children -- a cow they could milk! Sooo funny!! Walking along the railroad tracks at the Farmer's Market, looking for the cow.

Learning to milk a cow.

Abby was really into the cow-milking!

Good thing it wasn't a real cow or she would've been kicked in the head for trying to milk it from this end!

Cow Pats

There were a couple of sweet baby goats at the Farmer's Market too!
They are only two weeks old & still being fed with bottles.

Abby wasn't too sure what to think about the goats but she gave Ramie a nice pat on the head anyhow.

Ellie's turn with the goats!
Sweet Ramey with her brother, Stump, in the background. Ellie said they are really soft!

After milking the 'cow' and playing with the baby goats, the girls were treated to ice cream sandwiches. . .

. . . and chocolate milk. YUMMY!!
A fun afternoon adventure for my little City Slickers!!!!

Space Probe 2010: Vacation Bible School program

Today was the last day of Vacation Bible School. Ellie and Abby had an exciting time 'exploring the cosmos' & learning about God's word. Ellie came home with a bag of beautiful craft projects, ready for display and a heart full of new bible verses. Ellie & Ms Mary Margaret, one of Ellie's teachers for the week

Mr. Bill made a wager with the VBS'ers that if they could raise $1000 for the sports camp, he would shave his head AND wear an Ole Miss shirt, quite a bet for such a HUGE Auburn fan with usually thick hair! The children raised $2300! So Bill dutifully sat on the front steps of the church yesterday, surrounded by 100 cheering kids, and let our pastor shave his head.

First Sewing Project

While at Michael's Crafts over the weekend, Ellie discovered a little sewing kit in the sale bin. During this afternoon's thunder-showers, she worked on her little project. . .

The finished project (and proud seamstress!)!

Morgan's Visit!

Last night, Ellie & Abby's cousin Morgan stayed with us. It was so fun!! Ellie & Morgan play so well together and really enjoy each others company. They played on the deck while eating snowballs, hula-hooped, did the wii dance game, watched UP in a tent, and played sweetly in Ellie's room for hours with dolls & craft projects.
Come back soon, Morgan!! Cutie pies!
Abby had fun keeping up with the big girls.

Annual Pig Pull

Every Memorial Day, we attend the Annual Moreton-Hobbs-Perkins-Etc Family Pig Pull. It's always a great event, and so nice to catch up with our extended families! Plus, the food is always delicious! Drake, Master Pig Cooker, checking out his hard work. This year, he roasted a 150 pig, starting at midnight the night before and watching it ALL night. Then he slathers it in a delicious North Carolina bbq sauce. Mmmm!!!
Mmm!! Time to eat! Us with Cousin Lyle.

Abby had fun meeting all her cousins!
