Ellie attended Brookhaven Animal Rescue League's  Doggy Day camp again this year.  She had a great time learning about pet care and doing crafts, songs and other fun stuff! 

Today, the camp ended with a big parade downtown complete with a police and fire truck escort!!    The children sang their camp songs as they marched down the street.  Some children even dressed in costume for the parade and their dogs were dressed up too.  Such a fun event!

Ellie got to walk a league dog and took her responsibility very seriously.

It started out innocently enough. . .

. . . but while I was cutting up chicken for supper, THIS happened!!! Hearing giggles, I turned around to see two little Smurfs!!!  Silly girls!  They had so much fun painting themselves (and each other!), how could I stop them?

The aftermath. . .

I had blue footprints and hand prints across the kitchen, it took 3 tubs full of water and a shower to un-Smurf the girls (and Tim about 45 minutes to wipe down the kitchen) but it was totally worth it!  They had a blast!  The perfect silly way to spend a late summer day!
