FPK Book Fair

One of our favorite weeks at school . . . the BOOK FAIR!!!
Monday was "Donuts with Dads" -- poor post-surgery Daddy absolutely couldn't miss his special morning with Ellie, so I drove them to the book fair so they could enjoy donuts and purchase a couple of books.

Tuesday was "Granola with Grands" -- Nana came down from Pearl to attend with Ellie

and Granna and Papa took Ellie that evening! Ellie was so excited to spend the day with both sets of grandparents!

Of course Ellie & Papa selected a book about cats!!! (And it's even a black cat like Kloey & Elijah!)

Baking blueberry muffins for . . .
"Muffins with Moms" on Wednesday!!
What a fun week! Ellie and Abby now have several fabulous additions to their ever-growing library! Thank you everyone!! Ellie can read most of her new books all by herself!

Abby Antics

Abby loves to sit on the bathroom counter while I get ready in the morning, handing me my makeup and hairbrush. The other day, she was coloring with Ellie and came to me with a big blue smile! I couldn't figure out why she would try to eat a crayon until she picked up another crayon and acted like she was putting on lipstick, rubbing it over her lips and teeth!
Abby, wearing her blue 'lipstick'

She LOVES to feed herself now, and is getting quite skilled at yogurt eating!

So sweet, as always!!

Mini Monet & Petite Picasso!!

Over the weekend, Abby joined Ellie in a little art time. . . turns out, she loves painting as much as big sister!! This is fun, Mommy!

My little artists! Soo proud!!!

Abby did not stop smiling the whole time! Funny little girl!

Ellie, on the other hand, never looked up, too busy working on her masterpiece -- this is just the beginning of a very detailed painting she worked on for about 45 minutes. She adores art and can't wait to start real lessons this fall at the Art Barn!

Two brushes! Double the fun!

Abby's first masterpiece!

Ellie Washington

Ellie is learning about two very important Presidents this month at school -- George Washington and Abe Lincoln. She's come home every day full of fascinating Presidential information.
Today at parent-pick-up, she hopped in the car with a new persona: Ellie Washington! She's holding the Abe Lincoln Log Cabin project she finished in class yesterday. The logs are pretzel sticks, the roof is made of pine cone 'leaves' and on the front door is a shiny penny!

Daddy's little nurses!

Ellie and Abby have been soo sweet to their Daddy, helping him recover from yesterday's big-old hernia repair surgery. Yesterday afternoon, a few hours after we got home, quietly waiting for Daddy to wake up.

Ellie made this card for him at Grannas, while we were at the hospital. The drawing made him laugh (ouch! stitches!)!

Ellie asked me to make "nurse hats" for the girls to wear while they tended to their patient. Their hats will get lots of use during his recuperation at home the next two weeks!

Abby's 'sympathy' face

Abby has been bringing Daddy lots of toys & her 'night-night' (her special pink security blanket). She's also a great ice-pack delivery girl!
