Curious George!

Yesterday, we had a wonderful GIRLS DAY WITH GRANNA in Jackson!  First stop, the Mississippi Museum of Art to see an exhibit featuring our favorite silly monkey, Curious George!
It was a fascinating exhibit, full of historical documents about the Curious George authors.  Ellie loved the original drawings and learning how the Rey's went through the process of writing their books.  Abby enjoyed the reading room - an area with squishy poufs and beanbags and loads of Curious George books to read!

Abby selected this dress to wear since it matched The Man in the Yellow Hat, George's best buddy!
(don't know why she's standing all crazy -- silly girl!)

After the exhibit, the girls filled out cards detailing their favorite parts.  Ellie's was so sweet and detailed!

Left-handed Abby.

Then the girls picked out special Curious George surprises and books in the gift shop.

Aunt Sarah joined us for a delicious Cuban-style lunch at the Palette Cafe inside the museum.  LUNCH LADIES!

We enjoyed a stroll through the new Art Garden outside the museum.

We made a few shopping stops to stock up on beach trip and birthday party supplies!  Abby spotted her dream car in the Target parking lot.

Pearl Pirates!!!  Abby loves pirates!  She talks in pirate speak all the time.
This was on the back of a City of Pearl fire truck (score!  pirates AND fire trucks!  so exciting!).

Thank you, Granna, for the super fun day!!!  We love you!!!
