Chocolate Spoons - Yummy!!

Ellie and I had a fun time this afternoon making chocolate covered spoons to give as Valentine happies to her teachers at church. The spoons can be used to stir coffee or hot chocolate, giving it a little extra flavor! Licking the leftover chocolate was Ellie's favorite part. Mine, too! Yummy!!!

GO EAGLES!!!

Mamaw Slay's 92nd Birthday Party

Tim's grandmother, Waldyne Slay, celebrated her 92nd birthday yesterday with a family party at her nursing home.
She is such a beautiful, amazing woman and we were so honored to share this special day with her!

Matt, the cake expert, cutting one of Uncle Richard Bailey's glorious cakes from That Special Touch. It was the same flavor that Richard did for our wedding cake -- strawberry with cream cheese icing! Sooo tasty!!

Abby is Uncle Richard's newest fan club member. She ate that entire slice of cake, with a fork, all by herself -- and loved every bite! Granna asked her this morning if Abby'd enjoyed her cake yesterday and Abby grinned from ear to ear!

Silly Faces!

Dinosaurs!!

Ellie has really enjoyed the dinosaur unit at school! Every day, she's come home full of all sorts of information about bony plates, pointy tails, sharp teeth, plant eaters, meat eaters and more. The biggest dinosaur project was this special dinosaur habitat. Ellie and her classmates worked on their habitats for over a week, each day adding a little more detail. Yesterday, they added the final detail -- a clay dinosaur! Ellie is keeping the dinosaur in a ziploc bag, when he's not on display, so she can re-mold him into another type of dinosaur.
Here is one with a bony shield.
Here's Ellie's favorite -- a "long-necked" dinosaur. He's hanging out on a boulder, resting his neck on a log.

Here he is surrounded by very prehistoric looking trees!

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Rawhide!

A special treat rolled through Brookhaven today. . . A real live WAGON TRAIN!! Here it comes. . .

Granna & Papa took Abby to watch it on South Jackson Street. She had fun waving at the horses!

All the pretty horses!
After the first sighting, Granna, Papa & Abby raced ahead of the wagon train to the courthouse so I could watch it, too!

Check out Abby in her first pair of jeans! Daddy bought them for her this week. She thinks she is soo trendy!
They're going to need a little alteration, though, her tiny little waist can't hold them up. . . no saggy britches around here!!
