Soup of the week. . . Roasted Tomato Basil

Ellie, inspired by the cooler Fall weather, came up with the great idea for us to make a 'soup of the week'. She's such a foodie!

For our first soup, Ellie selected one of our favorites -- Roasted Tomato Basil -- a Barefoot Contessa recipe (here's the link to the recipe http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/roasted-tomato-basil-soup-recipe/index.html ). It was delicious!!!

A jar of the finished soup! We delivered it to a neighbor who hasn't been feeling well.

As an early birthday gift, Papa had a new garden designed for Granna in part of their yard. In spite of all the dreary rain last week, it was installed and is gorgeous! The plants are lovely and have lots of room to spread and grow. Ellie & Abby enjoyed watching the progress the afternoon the new plants were planted.
