While we were in Alabama, we visited the Montgomery Zoo. It's a beautiful zoo, clean, well kept and not too huge. And the weather was gorgeous -- almost spring-like!

Gentry & EliThe kids meals at the zoo snack bar included zoo juice, a burger, fries, animal crackers and a cool hat.
My favorite part -- feeding the giraffes. It's a new exhibit. The guide takes just a few people out on the platform, fills our hands with pieces of Mimosa plant & the giraffes walk gracefully up to us and eat from our hands. It tickled!
Abby's favorite part was the train! She couldn't wait to ride it!

Animal crackers & a train ride. Life is sweet.
Just as we were about to leave the zoo, these monkeys started up quite a "performance" (Ellie's word for it). They made a huge racket, jumping around their cage and making sounds like we've never heard! The children watched them for about 15 minutes, just fascinated. The sign said they are Siamang Monkeys and the sound they make is called "duetting". When they are duetting, their throat sacs grow to the size of a human head and they can be heard for miles! I believe it!
That is seriously tired -- when you fall asleep with your hand in a box of cheese ducks!
